Today, more so than ever, the church needs "able" watchmen. Speaking prophetically, Jesus said of our time, "But as the days of {Noah} were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be" (Matthew 24:37). People went busily about life oblivious to the laws and warnings of God, just like today! They "knew not until the flood came, and took them all away, so shall the coming of the Son of man be" (v.39). The ark was a physical vessel designed to deliver those in it from the world's destruction. So in our age, Christ's church is our ark. The church is meant to save God's people from worldliness. But our boat is sinking under a spiritual flood of sin, worldliness, paganism, and false doctrine.
