Global weather and doomsday headlines give some preachers the license to predict the imminent return of Jesus. While we may be drawing close to that reality, we cannot ignore what Jesus said: "But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only (Matthew 24:36).
To twist scripture to fit current events is to use the word of God deceitfully. The Apostle Paul wrote, "Seeing we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we faint not, but have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God (2 Corinthians 4:1-2).
