The story begins with the ghost of Wei Wuxian having been pulled into the body of a local gay boy Mo Xuanyu. In his past life, he was a feared and ostracized cultivator who raised armies of the dead. Now he's the boogieman tasked with getting revenge against Mo Xuanyu's family for torturing the poor misunderstood twink.
