As we reach the final chapters of The Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation, Wei Wuxian and Lan Wanji get their final scenes together. A SPICY FINAL SCENE. This episode is inappropriate for young audiences. Our favorite couple finally get to embrace each other with an audience of a donkey. 

This episode marks the beginning of the end. JennyBelly and Stella Chuu have decided to finish the podcast after the next 2 episodes. Though this project has been the highlight of the last 3 years, our lives have become overwhelmingly busy and cannot meetup for regular podcast recordings anymore. We love you guys and this community for making our danmei and yaoi journey so enriched.

Jin Guangyao tries to lead Lan Xichen towards Nie Mingjue so that they can all die together, but at the last minute saves Lan Xichen and pushes him out of the way before he’s killed. Jiang Cheng gives Wei Wuxian Chengqing, which he uses with Lan Wangji’s guqin to re-seal Nie Mingjue and Jin Guangyao into the coffin. Wei Wuxian suspects Nie Huaisang of planning the whole thing, even down to convincing MXY to summon Wei Wuxian back to life as revenge. Fairy returns to the temple with Jiang and Lan reinforcements. JL reflects on how Jin Guangyao was the only kind person in his life and doesn't know how to feel now that he’s gone and hated. Later, after Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji run away together, LSZ catches up to them to reveal that he is Wen Yuan. He and WN decide to go to Qishan to bury their family’s ashes. Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji will travel together on their own path.

After Jin Guangyao is cornered and injured, Lan Xichen interrogates him to figure out the truth. He admits that he knowingly married his sister and killed his father, because he had no choice. His father was a despicable man who used him as a tool and left his mother to rot in a brothel. Jin Guangyao uses a momentary distraction to hold Jin Ling hostage, but Lan Wangji saves him by cutting off Jin Guangyao’s hand. At that moment, Nie Mingjue’s corpse and Wen Ning appear, crashing into the temple as they fight each other. Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji manage to lure Nie Mingjue’s corpse into the coffin and seal it. Lan Xichen helps tend to Jin Guangyao’s wounds, arguing that it's better to keep him alive to answer for his crimes. But suddenly, Nie Huaisang shouts “watch out behind you!”. Lan Xichen is on guard after falling for so many of Jin Guangyao’s lies, and immediately stabs him in the heart.

Su She enters the temple with an unconscious Nie Huaisang. Jiang Cheng bursts in to the rescue, but Jin Guangyao sees that Wei Wuxian is his weakness and pretends to attack him to catch Jiang Cheng off guard. Jiang Cheng is angry with himself for falling for the trick and also at Wei Wuxian for hiding the truth of the golden core. Years of built up anger, resentment, and guilt finally erupt. Wei Wuxian wants to leave it all in the past, because he can no longer pretend to be carefree and unaffected. Su She also reveals that he was the one who cursed Jin Zixun for personal reasons, but in the end Wei Wuxian was the one who was blamed since everyone was against him. Jin Guangyao finally manages to dig up the thing he was hiding in the temple, but it looks like someone got there first and replaced it with a trap. Wei Wuxian uses the distraction to release all the resentful ghosts that were suppressed by the temple.

Wei Wuxian and WenNing investigate guanyin temple, and discover that Lan Xichen is there, held hostage by Jin Guangyao and an army of jin disciples. Wei Wuxian orders WN to fetch Lan Wangji, who has been left behind at the inn. Just then, Jin Ling and his dog appear. Wei Wuxian leaves his hiding spot to save Jin Ling, and ends up captured by Jin Guangyao. Jin Ling also ends up captured. Lan Xichen is surprised that Lan Wangji is not with Wei Wuxian, and reveals that Lan Wangji has been in love with Wei Wuxian for years, even going against his family and receiving punishment to protect Wei Wuxian in the past. Wei Wuxian has no memory of this and is horrified that he treated Lan Wangji so flippitantly. When Lan Wangji appears, Wei Wuxian confesses his feelings, despite being held hostage by Jin Guangyao, who forces Lan Wangji to seal his spiritual energy. While the two of them are feeling their feelings, someone knocks at the temple door.

BACK FROM OUR 1 MONTH HIATUS

Lan Wangji and Wei Wuxian go to Yunping City, following a lead that they found in Jin Guangyao’s secret room. They discover a popular temple in the middle of the city, but upon further inspection, they see that Jin Guangyao has set up an array to keep something sealed inside. Deciding that they need to rest first, they book a room at an inn. Wei Wuxian orders wine, and when Lan Wangji gets drunk, they go out into the night stealing chickens and graffiting the walls. Wei Wuxian convinces Lan Wangji to go back and take a bath. But the bath gets heated when Wei Wuxian gives in to his urges to touch Lan Wangji. They end up breaking the tub and having sex. Unfortunately, due to a misunderstanding Lan Wangji thinks that Wei Wuxian slept with him meaninglessly, and Wei Wuxian thinks he took advantage of him.

After they are saved, they all decide to go to the nearby Lotus Pier until their spiritual energy returns. As they travel by boat, the juniors discover that Wen Ning has secretly tagged along, because he recognizes LSZ and wants to speak to him. JL is bitter that people are on Wen Ning’s side, since he is responsible for his father’s death. When they finally arrive at lotus pier, Jiang Cheng is told that two women are waiting to speak to him. After hearing their story, he invites them to speak to the other sect leaders. They find out from the woman Sisi that Jin Guangyao orchestrated his father’s death. She was then imprisoned for 11 years until a mysterious savior freed her.
