This week's episode is a deeply personal one and a topic I never thought I would discuss at length. If you've been a long time listener some of this conversation will feel familiar as it's one I started to bridge last year. I never went as in depth with it as I wanted to because I was scared. Scared of people not understanding and scared of people giving me the same response I had gotten before: "how can you be bisexual if you have only dated men". I heard that over and over again, it frankly made me feel so invalid. I heard @jamesissmiling talk about bisexuality recently and it gave me a feeling of euphoria. In their video they goes on to say that bisexuality does not affirm the gender binary but people who are bisexual love those who identify the same and opposite as yourself. They says it much more gracefully than that, I will say. I had always had this feeling deep down that I was wronging myself by only dating men. That I was ignoring who I was because of it but this reminded me that you don't choose who you love. Just because I've only dated men, for example, does not invalidate my identity.
I really appreciate every single person who listens to this episode and continues to listen to the podcast -- you mean the world to me! If you ever need to chat my DMs and email are always open <3 Enjoy the episode!
