Kelsey is the Owner and calligrapher of Hawaii Calligraphy, as well as the Founder and Executive Director of the Make Lemonade Project, a non-profit providing financial support for those experiencing financial toxicity in their battle with cancer. With Kelsey’s husband being diagnosed with stage 4 cancer 7 years ago, there were some dark days spent at the hospital, so she started turning lemons into lemonade by using her artistic skills to bring some brightness to local cancer centers. It started out as free gifts at the hospital, but eventually turned into a grant program providing funds to cancer patients who aren’t able to get financial support in any other way.
Listen in to hear more about Kelsey’s amazing story as well as the details of what it took to get The Make Lemonade Project off the ground. If you’d like to support The Make Lemonade Project, go to www.makelemonadeproject.org and click the Donate button at the top right.
