Israel had a need to be like the rest of the world after God had already separated them from it. They already had a King of kings and the rejected Him. How many times have we thought God is absent, only to later realize it was God that was there the entire time getting you through your desert moment? How does Israel in 1 Samuel resemble Israel and the Church today?
