The Great Danes were brought together by fate (and the I-Ching) to go and fetch some lost materials from a professor of Peking University. They explored the house and found a number of inexplicable encounters. Finally, they found the horribly change professor in a basement, and managed to gather most of his materials before trapping him in his basement lair.

We start the Children of Fear proper, as the President of Peking University rewards them for their excellent work by inviting them to an upcoming lecture on the Silk Road.
