Rules of Trivial Choices
At the start of the game, the player is presented with 15 categories. They must choose 8 to play in the main game, then assign each category a point value from 1–8 based on confidence level. Higher confidence means higher risk and reward.
The 8 chosen categories are played in order from 1 point to 8 points. Correct answers earn the assigned points; incorrect answers earn nothing. Since the values 1 through 8 are all used once, the main game is worth a maximum of 36 points.
After questions 2, 4, and 6, the player faces a Bonus Round based on categories they submitted ahead of time. Winning a Bonus Round grants a major advantage in the Final Round: the ability to personally choose one category that will appear in the final board.
The 7 unused categories become the pool for the Final Round, but only 4 will actually be played. Normally those categories are selected randomly, but each Bonus Round victory allows the player to lock one category into the final lineup. Winning all three Bonus Rounds means controlling three of the four Final Round categories.
In the Final Round, the player sees all 4 questions at once and may answer as many as they choose.
Scoring for the Final Round is cumulative:
With 36 possible points in the main game and 15 in the Final Round, a perfect game of Trivial Choices is worth 51 points.
Can Today's Contestant get a perfect 51?
