S3:E38 Learning how to live within the confinements of today

This day and age, we are constantly trying to live in a future we can not see. We do this by worrying about what if, trying to figure out what to do when ..., analyzing and overthinking every single detail of what could and would go wrong and then desperately trying to make a plan c,d,e,f and g. 


We spend all night worrying about it. We sometimes don't eat. We aren't present in conversations that are currently happening. We zone out while driving. Think about it in the shower on and on and on this train we go. 

Anxiety is a result of envisioning the future without God in it. 

We are designed to only be able to handle specific blocks of time, and for us that means 24 hours at a time and for about 8 of those we are supposed to sleeping. So really its like maybe 16 hours that we have, if that. 

Staying in the present moment is something we hear all of the time and there are practices that can help with cultivating that mental discipline. Things such as mindset mastery, meditation, journaling, exercising, breathing exercises, yoga etc. 


But we have to first understand that this moment is THE ONLY thing we know to be true and when we project ourselves into the future and linger in the "what if's" of future events, then we rapidly spring into a circle of worry and anxiety and we miss the work, the opportunities, the blessings, and the lessons that are wrapped up in each moment of the day.
