God expects his elect to be strong in the face of the enemy. The Apostle Paul urged the Ephesian church, “Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.” (Ephesians 6:10). The strength Paul referred to is total trust and dependence upon God. They faced fierce enemies when Israel was preparing to cross the Jordan into the Promised Land. The Lord told Joshua: “I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee. Be strong and of good courage: for unto this people shalt thou divide for an inheritance the land, which I swore unto their fathers to give them” (Joshua 1:6).

Today we prepare to enter the kingdom of God. Our enemy is Satan, and his primary weapon is deception.
