We should never underestimate the importance of a God-called ministry—to bring people to spiritual maturity. Their calling is to nurture souls to become more like Jesus. The purpose of discipleship is to die to our fallen nature to develop the characteristics of Jesus.

"Perfecting of the saints" means developing our maturity to base our decisions on God's requirements, not our emotions or fickleness. The work of a minister is to deliver the word of God to change our lives effectively.
