Our Pastor concludes tonight’s service by quoting the Apostle Paul’s instructions to Timothy: “The things {teachings} that thou hast heard of
me among many witnesses, the ‘SAME’ commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also” (2 Timothy 2:2). Watering a message requires that we first repeatedly study what was said by the man of God; commit the lesson to memory—incorporate it into our heart so we can live it—then share it with other faithful men who will do likewise. Maintaining strict discipleship ensures the continuity of truth essential to the Body of Christ. The Holy Spirit speaks through one person in an assembly, God’s anointed pastor. Therefore, we must be
fastidious not to change the message or add our slant. Violating the principle leads to error and apostasy.
