How do we process the anger and grief? How do we handle evil when it is actually happening?

What does the Bible say to do when someone pulls a knife and attacks you? What is a valid response? What about if they are attacking a person that is not you, but you see it?

Should I be willing to be martyred?

Spoiler: You CAN buy a gun. You CAN train to use it. You CAN mentally prepare yourself for battle. You CAN physically fight. In fact, the Bible advocates for you to do so.
