The phrase “come bearing gifts” is associated with the Greeks, and it’s used to warn of an ulterior motive of the person who is bringing the gift. It is believed that the gift could be an excuse for an enemy to get close to you and attack. Therefore, don’t trust your enemy, even when they try to befriend you and bring you gifts.
But wait, what about those spiritual gifts of yours? You know, the ones that are supposed to be able to tell you about danger. That whole intuitive thing where you can see past the material world? Yeah, I would like to know the answer to that too.
Apparently, we signed up for lessons to learn, and sometimes they are brought to you by the people closest to you. How you choose to move forward after a hurtful disappointment will determine if you must repeat that lesson again. I am pretty sure... I did NOT sign up for this!!!
