Today's song and conversation starter is "Ain't Easy" by Muni Long. She's a singer and songwriter who's been in the game for a long time. She used to go by Priscilla Renea when she was doin more songwriting and in the pop lane, but recently did a rebrand and went full R&B when she put out her EP "Public Displays of Attention". The most popular song from it is probably "Hrs and Hrs", but today I wanted to be real about toxic relationships and the way a fight can really make a couple hate each other and forget all about the love. A love like that, where you're both prideful, can take a toxic turn and make it really hard, and sometimes impossible to have a healthy relationship. Love isn't easy but it's gotta be worth it.

Then I talk about the double standard of men being allowed to be career focused while family oriented and still consider themselves independent, but women gotta pick one or the other. You really can't win as a woman sometimes so I get into all the unfair assumptions we gotta deal with. I also get into how men will really try to get you to quit a certain job that isn't "wifey" enough for them, and how letting a man like that talk you into being financially dependent on him is a red flag.
