There's a quote by Pearl Bailey that says, "A crown, if it hurts, is not worth wearing."

We've taken the label "selfless" and turned it into a crown that inevitably hurts us; a badge of honor that dishonors our own needs and desires. Understand, there is no honor in having little to no concern for one's self and focusing on the needs and warfare of others. How can you adequately take care of anyone if you are falling apart? You can't. You're doing yourself and the people are trying to love a disservice by deprioritizing yourself to make them happy and comfortable, because the more you do, the more is expected.

This lesson is about making yourself a priority again and letting people figure it out. Not being careless, but caring less about what everyone else needs are before you care about your own.
