Welcome to season 6, episode 14 of Horror Hill! I’m your host Erik Peabody, and I’m really excited about this one. Tonight’s tale comes to us from the very same author who wrote episode 12’s story- The Whaler’s Song.
Our fear for the week rises to the great top of Raiders Hill in Radnorshire, where there sits a solitary stone that some believe resembles a weeping figure. According to folklore, the shadow it casts as the sun goes down points the way to a cave of hidden treasure. Whether the stone figure weeps because it was never able to find this bounty, or because it grieves some greater loss, nobody knows, though of course there are stories to accommodate both possibilities.
