On Tuesday, a Texas jury ruled against Jeff Younger, removed his parental rights and awarded sole conservatorship to his mother, who wanted to change her 7-year-old son’s gender.

On Wednesday night, Texas Governor Greg Abbott announced the Texas Attorney General’s Office and the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services would be looking into this case due to the loud outcry for justice in a case that could affect this child for years to come.

On Thursday, the judge in the case changed the decision and granted both parents “joint custody.” The problem here is Younger will be subject to a gag order regarding the case, and his blog must be removed. That’s not fair! On the other hand, I am not for government intervention in our lives, but in this case, I find myself grateful that someone is intervening on behalf of that child. The welfare on that youngster should be paramount.
