The U.S. House of Representatives debates S.943, the Johnson-O’Malley Supplemental Indian Education Program Modernization Act, on December 11, 2018.
The bill requires the Bureau of Indian Affairs to update the student count for Johnson-O’Malley Program. Current funding is based on data from 1995.
The bill passed the House by a voice vote on December 11. It previously passed the Senate so it can now be sent to President Donald Trump for his signature.
