Netball South Africa President Cecilia Molokwane is hoping that the future winners of the Telkom Premier League will win one million rand (R 1 Million) in prize money. The Gauteng Jaguars successfully defended their crown over the weekend and won two hundred and fifty thousand rand (R250 000), with the runners up Western Cape Southern Stings winning one hundred and fifty thousand (R 150 000). Last year the Jaguars won R 100 000 winners take all prize money.

An under pressure South Africa men’s hockey team made light weight of Mexico, beating the South Americans 6-0 to book a place in the quarter-final of the FIH Hockey Series in Bhubaneswar, India. SA took only 32 seconds to open the scoring and producing the quickest goal of the entire tournament so far. Coach Gareth Ewing was relieved and expressed satisfaction.

Highlands Park striker Rodney Ramagalela says being home around young people has revived him as he gets in pre-season mode for the 2019/2020 football season. Ramagalela was home in the village of Mamvuka in Vhembe hosting a tournament for 16 local clubs the Ramagalela Winter Games.

Kumamoto Volters Center Tshilidzi Nephawe had a meet and greet session with Limpopo MEC for Sport Arts and Culture Thandi Moraka yesterday at the Olympic Towers in Polokwane. The Japanese Basketball league is in recess and Naphawe saw this as an opportunity to connect with provincial leadership. Among some of the things said at the meeting was the department roping Naphawe in to assist in youth development of basketball in Limpopo.

Limpopo Tourism Agency (LTA) Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Sonto Ndlovu says the agency’s trip to the IMEX worldwide exhibition in Germany last month cannot exactly be linked to sport tourism. However, Ndlovu says they picked some pointers relating to how they can keep improving sport tourism in Limpopo. Ndlovu was also happy to discover that the sports events LTA have been involved in like Tour De Limpopo cycling race have grabbed the attention of a lot of people in Germany.
