Boxing trainer Colin Nathan and International Boxing Federation (IBF) flyweight champion Moruti ‘’Babyface’’ Mthalane left South Africa for Japan on Sunday where Mthalane is going to make a mandatory defence of his title against Japanese flyweight champion Masayuki Kuroda on Monday, 13 May. This is going to be Mthalane’s second defence of the title he won when he defeated Pakistani Muhammad Waseem in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, in July last year. Mthalane stopped Japanese boxer Masahiro Sakamota in the 10th round in his first defence in Hong Kong in December last year.

Highveld Lions captain Temba Bavuma was thrilled to have helped his team secure the CSA T20 Challenge title on Sunday (05 May 2019) after they beat the Warriors in a thrilling final in Johannesburg. Chippa United coach Clinton Larsen said no one is afforded a free ride on the final day of the 2018/19 Absa premiership season.
