The Basic Education Department says they do not see a reason for South African Democratic Teachers Union (Sadtu) to threaten to take them to court over the release of the report on the jobs-for cash scam.

Gauteng's MEC for Community Safety and Transport has met with various taxi owners and traffic chiefs from across the province this week in an attempt to curb the on-going road fatalities. This follows last Friday's incident on the R41 in Randfontein west of Johannesburg where 15 people were killed following a crash involving a taxi and a truck. Three people were also injured during a shootout between rival taxi organisations on Wednesday outside the newly opened Mall of Africa.Jacques Steenkamp reports.
