The South African Sports Confederation and Olympic Committee (SASCOC) is relying on the WHO (World Health Organization) for the daily updates on the coronavirus which is prevalent in China. The Orlando Pirates camp is avoiding the favourites tag going to the much anticipated Soweto derby against arch-rivals Kaizer Chiefs in an Absa Premiership match to be played at FNB stadium on Saturday afternoon. One of the talking points going to this derby is who will start in goals for Chiefs. Whilst Chiefs head coach Middendorp has made it clear that Nigerian international Daniel Akpeyi plays in the league and the club’s captain Itumeleng Khune in the cup games, the exit in the Nedbank Cup this past weekend could change that script.

SASCOC Acting President Barry Hendricks said this at the launch of six months leading up to the quadrennial games in Tokyo, Japan. There are 51 sporting events in 22 codes at the Paralympics and Hendricks says the preparations are on track.
