Fans of the world's biggest band, One Direction, say they are geared up for a night of fun when the group stages the final leg of its South African tour at Cape Town stadium tonight. The English-Irish pop boy band arrived in South Africa last week as part of its global "on The Road Again 2015 Tour". Despite being one member short, after the departure of Zayn Malik, the band staged two sold-out concerts in Johannesburg.

Police say a long-term operation aimed at dismantling some of the Western Cape's most notorious gangs is yielding results. This comes after 11 members of the Junior Cisco Yakkies were sentenced to a collective two-hundred-and-22 years in prison for murder in the High Court in Cape Town yesterday.

Western Cape police say they are still looking for leads after two homeless men were allegedly assaulted and brutally raped, one with a pole, in the Cape Town city bowl. The City of Cape Town says the incidents occurred early last month, however they only came to light this weekend after a report by a member of the public. One of the victims remains in hospital and will likely undergo surgery to repair the internal damage he sustained during the attack.
