Well here we are again, another 8 game losing streak this season.

On Thursday in Philly the Kings played a hard fought game and ended up losing on a final shot by Tyrese Maxey. The next night in Boston they simply didn't have any juice left to hang with the Celtics as they get blown out.

While the Kings have looked good in stretches on this road trip, it's still a loss in the win-loss column.

They are now the worst team in the league in terms of record and it will be very interesting how this will affect anything leading up to trade deadline this upcoming week.

The Kings played well for 3 and half quarters. They played good defense, forced the Knicks into a lot of silly turnovers, and Demar was carrying the Kings on offense. But the floor fell out from under them in the final 4 minutes as the Knicks go on a run to win the game going away.

Under the surface of this loss is also a game within a game regarding the King's offense. With Sabonis returning to the starting lineup, the King's starting lineup runs into a clash of philosophies with each of their veteran players and the result is a messy concoction of team basketball that just isn't conducive to winning basketball and is a source of confusion for everyone involved.

If I told you that the Kings shots 52% FG and 44% from 3 for a game, you would assume they won the game right?

Well not when you let the opposing team shoot 55% FG and 52% from 3 and you turn the ball over 19 times for 28 points off turnovers.

The Kings for the most played great on offense but they really struggled to get stops and had some god awful turnovers that negated the terrific shotmaking they had this game.

Their losing streak now grows to 5 as they start their first 2 road games of this trip 0-2.

The game started out 16-2 for the Cavs and the Kings looked absolutely cooked. Coach Christie calls a timeout and benches the starters and sends in his super subs and they were able to tie the game by the end of the 1st quarter.

The rest of the game was a back and forth battle until the Kings missed a few late buckets to give the game to the Cavs.

This is an interesting conundrum for the Kings and their coaching staff as it's clear that there needs to be a shakeup in the starting lineup and bench combos to get the most out of this team.

It's a struggle the Kings have dealt with the entire season, when they're not getting stops and subsequent transition buckets, their half court offense isn't reliable enough to keep up with most teams in the league.

And that's the main issue the Kings have faced in their 3rd loss in a row, their half court offense is slow, unimaginative and oh so stagnant. When they aren't scoring, their defense also suffers and that's what has led to 3 very decisive losses to good teams.

The Kings end their 7 game homestand with a respectable 4-3, but they now depart for a long 6 game road trip on the East Coast that will last basically until the trade deadline.

All good things come to an end, the Kings had a great 4 game winning streak but that was ended by the Blazers tonight.

The stifling Blazer defense slowed the Kings down and the Kings offense was clunky for stretches, letting the Blazers build a big lead that they never lost.

It was good while it lasted but this loss shows the Kings still have a lot of issues to address. Maybe this win streak also showed them something they can build off of as well.

The Kings keep winning as they extend their winning streak to 4 after beating the Washington Wizards.

It got hairy in the middle, but the Kings rose to the occasion after a scuffle and took control of the game and the Wizards never got close again.

Kings are playing very well as of late and are getting reinforcements back in the form of Sabonis from injury and Dennis from suspension.

Let's see if the Kings can continue their momentum on Saturday.

The Kings extend their winning streak to their longest of the season at 3 games after beating the Knicks in this long homestand.

The Kings played terrific defense and the Knicks shot horrifically from the outside and weren't much better inside. On the offensive end they moved the ball and played with an extra physicality. That plus the incredible play of Precious Achiuwa who definitely wanted to stick it to his former team, the Kings definitely outplayed the Knicks on this night.

Kings get not only their 1st win of the new year, but back to back wins and beams.

In the Rockets game, the Kings were able to out-hustle and out-physical the gianormous Rockets lineup, mostly thanks to Dylan Cardwell, who brought all the energy and physicality that Coach Doug Christie dreamed of.

And in the Lakers game, the Kings shot the lights out from 3 behind Malik Monk's shooting.

These wins have been very impressive and maybe could be a turning point for the Kings discovering something with lineups and play styles they can lean into more going forward.

In the meantime, it's nice to see the Beam back, and in back to back nights for the 1st time this year.

The Kings faced the Warriors in a battle of offensive philosophies. The Kings rely on their players to create shots through isolations while 3 or 4 players stand around and space, and the Warriors do it through moving the ball all over the floor combined with constant player movement.

For about 2 and a half quarters, the Kings and Warriors traded leads. But after being tied 84-84, the well went dry for the Kings offense and the Warriors pulled away with a 13-0 run and the Kings never got close again.

As it has happened so many times this season, the King's offensive philosophy fails them again and they lose another game in deflating fashion.
