Today, we continue our sermon series on The Kingdom Attitudes based of the beattitude scriptures lead by Robert Whitt. This week's topic was about The Merciful. Robert helps us to consider how a merciful person responds to forgiveness. To be shown mercy, we must have mercy on others. Robert helps us to realize that we sometimes have an unhealthy standard that we hold ourselves to, maybe even unforgiveness to ourselves, that God does not hold us to and it's that attitude that can hold us back from growing. This week's sermon was lead by Pat Sweeney as we continue our sermon series Kingdom Attitudes. Our title this week is Hunger and Thirst coming from the scripture Matthew 5:6 that says "Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled." Pat helps us understand what righteousness means in the context of our relationship with God, what it looks like to hunger and thirst for it, and Pat helps us consider what things we need to change in our lives to become hungry and thirsty for righteousness. This is a topic that is humbling, challenging, difficult, and most fulfilling as the scriptures say in Matthew 5:3, "Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven." Keith leads us through powerful insights about being poor in spirit that makes an excellent effort to reach the depths of your heart.
