Pastor Tim Kimberly explores the "5, 3, and 1" of the week: the five nights of VBS truths—ranging from David's courage against Goliath to his gratitude toward Mephibosheth—the three steps of the Gospel (Admit, Believe, Forever Receive) illustrated through a testimony by Farmer Finn, and the one true Shepherd, Jesus Christ. By drawing parallels between David’s life and the far greater work of Jesus, the message invites everyone to move from being lost, fearful, or shaky to being found, peaceful, and sure in the Lord's dwelling place.

Psalm 5 is a vital gift of guidance for navigating the storms of life. The Psalmist shows that we can take refuge in God by starting each day with intentional prayer, speaking and listening to Him out loud, and resting in His presence rather than relying on our own strength. While wickedness and worldly distractions seek to lead us astray, we can find true safety, favor, and abundant joy by embracing God's covenant and walking in His righteousness. God is the only secure shelter regardless of life's overwhelming challenges.

David was no stranger to suffering, yet in the middle of his pain he learned to rest in the faithful care of his God. In the same way, we are reminded that our Father is kind and good, and He lovingly gives His children what they need most. Even in seasons of hardship, He draws near to comfort us, shelter us, give us peace, and fill our hearts with hope. Above all, the greatest gift the Father has given is His own Son, Jesus Christ, in whom we find lasting help, healing, and salvation.
