  • The World Turned Upside Down

In Thessalonica, three Sabbaths of reasoning from the Scriptures lead some to believe and others to riot, and the accusation against Paul and Silas says more than the accusers know: these are men who have turned the world upside down. A mob drags Jason before the city authorities, forcing Paul and Silas out under cover of night, evidence that the gospel was never a private, harmless message wherever it actually landed.

  • Deliver Us From Evil

The prayer ends where honesty about ourselves demands it: not just forgiveness for what we've done, but rescue from what we cannot resist alone. "Lead us not into temptation" is a request for a Father to guard the weak, and "deliver us from evil" names an enemy we can't out-strategize. We'll close the series here, and circle back to the warning that ties the whole prayer together.

  • Forgive Our Debts

Jesus names sin plainly here: debt. And he ties our asking to our giving, "as we also have forgiven our debtors." This isn't a bargain struck with God; it's the shape forgiven people take. We'll look at what it means to actually receive forgiveness, and why a forgiven heart cannot stay closed toward others.

  • Give Us Our Daily Bread

One request, plainly put: bread, today. Not security for the year or answers for every unknown, just what's needed for now, asked of a Father who feeds. This week considers what it costs us to actually pray this, and what it exposes about where we've been placing our trust instead.

  • Our Father

Before Jesus teaches us to ask for anything, he teaches us who we're speaking to. Real prayer isn't performance for an audience or noise meant to earn a hearing; it's a child addressing a Father who already knows what's needed. This week we'll slow down on the address itself, "our Father," and the first three requests that orient every prayer after it: his name, his kingdom, his will.

  • Uniting What Is Torn Apart

The Spirit shuts doors into Asia and Bithynia before opening one through a vision, a man from Macedonia asking for help, and Paul reads it as a call. In Philippi that call becomes three very different conversions: Lydia, whose heart the Lord opens in a quiet riverside gathering, a slave girl freed from a spirit that had made others rich off her, and a jailer who asks what he must do to be saved after an earthquake breaks his chains but not his prisoners' resolve to stay. Three lives, three doors, one Lord opening each of them.

  • How to Pick a Fight

Paul and Barnabas, partners through the whole first journey, split over whether to bring John Mark again, and Luke doesn't soften it, calling it a sharp disagreement. Two mission teams form instead of one, Timothy joins Paul in Lystra, and despite the conflict, the churches are strengthened in the faith and grow daily in number. Even a painful falling-out between godly men doesn't stall what God is doing.

  • By Grace Through Faith

A controversy reaches Jerusalem: must Gentile believers be circumcised and keep the law to be truly saved? Peter reminds the council that God cleansed Gentile hearts by faith alone, with no distinction made, and James settles the matter by grounding it in the prophets rather than in preference. What's decided here protects the gospel itself, that salvation comes through grace, not through becoming someone else first.

  • Triumphs and Tribulations Along the King’s Highway

Acts 14 follows Paul and Barnabas through conversions, conflict, praise, persecution, and the strengthening of new churches. These gripping stories from Paul’s first missionary journey show us that faithfulness is not measured by life’s ease, credit for our successes along the path of obedience belongs to God, and suffering does not mean God has failed us. The King’s highway always narrows in tribulation, but God’s grace sustains us in every joy and trial as we press into the Kingdom.

  • The Resilient Gospel

The Spirit sets apart Barnabas and Saul for the work he has already called them to, and the first missionary journey begins with a sorcerer struck blind and a governor who believes. In Antioch of Pisidia, Paul preaches Christ crucified and raised to a synagogue crowd, and Luke tells us plainly why some believed and others didn't: as many as were appointed to eternal life believed. It's one of the clearest windows in Acts into whose work salvation actually is.
