Living a magical life isn't about ignoring the challenges and chaos of the world around us. Rather, it's about remembering our power and agency as creators of our own experience. By cultivating pockets of joy, nourishment, and creativity in our daily lives, we can maintain a sense of groundedness and stability even amidst the ups and downs of life.

I've noticed in myself and those around me that when we get caught up in the intensity of life, it's easy to feel ungrounded and disconnected. By prioritising our attention and being intentional about how we engage with the world around us, we can create a ripple effect of steadiness and positivity in our relationships and communities.

In this episode, I share some of my research and explorations into various spiritual and shamanic traditions. I have always noticed that they share an appreciation and love for some similar themes. Of course, I respect that they are each their own traditions with their own unique beliefs, practices, and cultural contexts but I am curious about how so many of the ancient and wisdom traditions all hold nature so highly and the belief in the power of the different realms. I think it's fascinating and I notice there is a longing in so many humans to be reconciled in their relationship with Nature, Earth-Based Traditions, Rituals, The Great Mystery, and Magick.

I'd love to hear your considered thoughts on this matter, focusing on the positives of receiving the wisdom of these ancient traditions and how they work in modern times.

We need to speak about the difference between these two as it's an important subject. In a world full of information and content, it is easy for people to plagiarise and copy another. I say it's like cutting off your connection to the source of your own personal Magick when you do it. Don't do it, it'll rob you dry of your own blend of creativity. Take the time to enhance your connection to what your own personal Magick is, it'll up the value you hold about yourself and that will change your life no end.

You are Magickal, tap into your inner well because there are endless inspirations and creative expressions available to you. Keep on copycatting and you'll run dry, devalue yourself and shrivel up. Your choice.

Have you noticed how winter invites us to be slow and still?

If we take up the invitation, our systems feel nourished, we get replenished and soak up the richness that comes when we soften our pace. Instead of chasing the pace of ‘doing’, we remember how to restore and receive. This is the gift of winter.

Let’s look at another energy now, the one of society. It’s busy, there is a rampant amount of information coming every moment. Keep doing the things, you don’t have time to rest. I see it as a way of emotionally hijacking the very intelligence that knows it needs to rest.

This way of living has a very addictive undertone of fear that would like to convince you that there is no time to stop, there’s an urgency needing your immediate attention, and it all needs to be actioned now.

Now compare the difference between the energy of winter and of current society. Which feels more replenishing?

The problem with the current way of living life is that your nervous system gets hooked on adrenaline boosts. It knows no difference because that is its ‘food’. It’s an addictive habit.

This podcast is a gift to that part of you that knows it wants to enjoy the gifts of winter and it gives you some teachings and ways to nourish yourself.

Winter is a great time to Dream, to go within, to take yourself on a journey to meet feelings you’ve perhaps popped to one side. Often when we are able to get still, we may meet those parts that we successfully buried, which is maybe why we are so addicted to doing and avoiding.

In this podcast episode, you’ll hear some wisdom and insights into being in the wintertime. If you take some of these and implement them, I’m pretty confident your nervous system will thank you for it.
