In this episode, Danny Gulden and Kyle Brown are joined by special guest Sarah Renfro to reflect on the importance of community in the life of the church. Together they share personal stories of compassion, presence, and prayer, and how small acts of kindness can create meaningful connection. The conversation explores both the challenges and opportunities technology brings to building authentic relationships, and the role the church plays in helping people truly belong. Ultimately, they invite listeners to lean into community with openness, authenticity, and a willingness to show up for one another.
Danny Gulden and Kyle Brown talk with Associate Pastor Michelle Latty about engagement—faith that moves beyond words into justice, service, and everyday action. Rooted in Micah 6:8, they explore how showing up transforms us and our communities, name real barriers like time and uncertainty, and offer a practical path forward: start small, stay flexible, find your vocation, and keep showing up together.
Hosts Danny Gulden and Kyle Brown sit down with Ryan Hazen, Lead Pastor at Geist Christian Church’s Mud Creek campus, to explore the core value of faithful curiosity. From Mother Teresa’s “come and see” to John 1:35–39, they discuss why the church should value questions over quick answers and how invitation and welcome are not the same thing. Together, they offer a pastoral vision—giving people permission to not know, creating space for stories to be heard, and encouraging us all to keep showing up for one another.
This season begins with a look inward as hosts Kyle Brown and Danny Gulden reflect on the core values that guide Geist Christian Church: Inclusivity, Faithful Curiosity, Engagement, and Community. Along the way, they’ll also welcome friends and voices from inside and outside the church to share their stories and perspectives.

Strangers
I like to belly up to bars
At local establishments (or airports as it were)
Not necessarily for the drinks
But for the locals (and travelers)
I overhear stories
Answer questions when asked
And sometimes…
Some wonderful times
I have the privilege
Of hearing one life’s experience
And sharing my own
Eliminating boundaries
Expanding horizons, hope, and grace
To listen to one’s life is a gift
To behold and hold sacred
To be witness to vulnerability is a blessing and a responsibility
An act of mutuality in trust
A breaking of walls, hearts, and bread
Lives spilt wide open
Onto those with ears to hear
And hearts to heal
Thanks be
