We have all been is a hard spot. We have all had the choice to make between hard and fun. Fun is what you see all over social media. Fun is how people want you to see their life as. I say fuck that, make sacrifices. Make the hard choice and do the hard work. That way when those same people are still having "fun" you're celebrating constant growth and success.
