The culture of God’s Kingdom is shaped by the character of the King—Jesus—and one of its defining characteristics is sacrifice. In Luke 18, Jesus shows that following Him isn’t just about keeping rules, but about surrendering the things we hold onto most. Faith requires giving up what we think is good so we can receive what Jesus knows is better. When we sacrifice temporary things to follow Christ, we gain something far greater—life, purpose, and eternal hope through Him.
