They've come to the end of the race, but the race isn't done with them. To make it through the gate, the crew will have to survive it in this double episode conclusion of the Bait & Switch arc.

Whatever new information the map revealed, Lin has opted to keep it a secret from the rest of the party, and Kaylark managed to make a whole bunch of new friends before escaping with a new potion. The party will press on, their map marker revealing they're closing in on the end of the Race. What awaits them, however, is something not so pleasant, and a little familiar.

After the revelation that the Race has dumped them in the Plaguewrought Lands, the party stumbled unwittingly into a giant, which was partially composed of this weird reoccurring purple crystal. Mia left a crater in the shard giant, and Barash punched it to smithereens, but Lin will soon find something she decides to keep secret before Kaylark makes a series of unfortunate decisions.

The party has made...friends? No one's really sure, least of all their friends. After some sweet inner-party conflict over the handling of the tokens in the Race, the party resolved to move on with their new "friends", with a hope that the whole thing wouldn't backfire. Time's a-ticking and the sun's a-rising, and the party will have to weigh what's more important: winning, or surviving.

After stumbling across their first empty carriage, and finding it in a daunting state, the party moved on with the race. Finally, they came across other participants, but before they could come close, the two participants they were rudely dropping eaves on were ambushed, and a fight ensued. It's not going exactly the way they expected, either.

The forest came alive with purple light to surround the party, an experience both alarming and gross. After punching birds out of the sky and making noodles out of the vine creatures, the party faces what to do about the race, and what the race will do about them.

So, following the dragonling through the woods had seemed like a good idea at the time, until it led the party to a crater harpooned by a tall, glowing purple crystal. Lin revealed the crystal to be a "godshard", and also that she has the ability to channel it. What she didn't expect was what her channeling would awaken – and it's hella creepy.

After the start of the Cullings landed the party in the middle of the woods with a less-than-helpful arcane map, they found their way just in time for the map to...short-fuse, it seems. Now, they've come face-to-face with what appears to be a red dragonling, and, most unnerving of all, the dragonling wants to take them somewhere.

The Cullings have begun – probably. After agreeing to Guard Captain Arizima’s terms, the party was whisked away during the night and dropped into, uh, a forest? The map they were given included some annoyingly cryptic words, but what they know for sure is that this is a race. The question now is what they’re racing toward, or against.
