Safari Stories

Ricky from Big on Wild fell in love with the Kruger National Park and nature from a very young age and he joins us to share some amazing stories that he has experienced. Some the stories he tells us about include the time he witnessed lions stealing a leopards kill and the time hyenas and lions battled if out for a buffalo kill.

Graeme has a true passion for nature and this can be felt in the way that he tells his stories. Graeme has spent a lot of the time in the Kruger National Park and this has resulted in some magnificent sightings. Graeme shares some really great stories with us including the time a leopard was right next to his car at Biyamiti Weir and the time the white lion almost got ambushed by 3 other male lions.

Dana has a truly incredible story to tell. After an initial trip to South Africa, she returned to America, sold her possessions and moved to Africa. She is the author of three books about her experiences and today we get to hear some of these stories. Dana has traveled extensively and this makes for some great stories. Today we hear many stories including a lion kill right outside her tent and finding a black mamba by herself.

Jan operates a safari company, Sentashya Safaris out of Marloth Park which is just south of the Kruger National Park. Jan goes through his extensive experience with working in the bush and includes walking safaris in the Kruger. He goes through some amazing stories, like getting charged and hit by a rhino, having lions charging him and some guests whilst on foot, with an interesting rescue. Definitely an episode not to be missed.

David goes through some of his favourite stories whilst on safari. He has spent a lot of time in the Kruger, particularly when he managed a game lodge on the Southern border of the park. From his time there he has accumulated many great stories and he shares some of them with us today.

Linda, together with her husband and 2 children are living in the Kruger National Park. Hear all the amazing stories she has about nature whilst raising a family in the bush.
