What does it mean when life begins to scatter?

In Scripture, scattering can point to two very different realities. Sometimes it is connected to faith, sowing, promise, and multiplication. Other times it is connected to judgment, separation, correction, and consequence.

COMFORT WITH A PURPOSE

In 2 Corinthians 1:3–4, Paul reminds us that God is the Father of mercies and the God of all comfort—the One who meets us in our pain, strengthens us in our struggles, and carries us through seasons we never thought we would survive. But there is a greater purpose behind that comfort: God comforts us so that we can become a source of comfort to someone else.

In Part 5 of the Alignment Series, “It Was All a Dream,” we explore Solomon’s powerful encounter with God in 1 Kings 3:6–15. When God appeared to Solomon in a dream and invited him to ask for anything, Solomon did not request wealth, long life, or victory over his enemies. Instead, he asked for wisdom to lead well.

Solomon’s request teaches us about alignment, purpose, leadership, and the desires of the heart. Sometimes the clearest revelation of who we are—and who we are becoming—emerges when God confronts us with an open-ended question: “What do you want?”

God does not expect His children to navigate life without His voice.

In this message from the Alignment Series, we explore the relationship between God the Father and us as His children. Jesus declares in John 10:27, “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.” This verse reminds us that spiritual direction is not merely about receiving instructions—it is about knowing the One who is speaking.

Unlike the painful silence seen in parts of David’s relationship with his sons, our heavenly Father speaks, corrects, encourages, warns, and guides His children. He does not abandon us to confusion. He invites us into conversation and teaches us how to recognize His voice.

This message challenges us to ask:

Are we listening when God speaks?

Do we trust His correction?

Are we following His direction, even when we do not understand the entire path?

God knows you. God speaks to you. God leads you. God loves you.

When you need direction, do not run from the Father. Ask Him, “Lord, will You talk me through it?”
