The South African Federation of Trade Unions (SAFTU) has made a parliamentary submission to the Portfolio Committee on Mineral Resources and Energy, opposing sections of the Electricity Regulation Amendment Bill. The Bill seeks to establish a national regulatory framework for the electricity supply industry. But SAFTU feels the Bill is aimed at furthering the objectives to privatize energy provision in the country. For more on this, Elvis Presslin spoke to SAFTU spokesperson Trevor Shaku
