Sage and Thyme are excited to launch the second season of their podcast with a new spooky mini-series: witches, vampires, and werewolves, and the folklore and history behind each. This first one covers witches and probably also marks their shortest episode so far... *cackling*
Sage and Thyme journey down all the memory lanes - nostalgia, growth, and future expectancy - as they reflect on a year of podcasting together. Through the ups, downs, twists, and turns, it's wild to be on the other side of a first season's journey, so sweet to have stayed so strongly connected, and exciting to ponder all the potential ahead!
In this episode, Sage and Thyme...obsess over Glen Powell. Ahaha, kidding. Well, somewhat. They did both hit theaters to see Twisters to round out their mini-series on natural disasters. Tune in for comparisons between the 1996 and 2024 movies, thorough synopses, and the gals freaking out over Mr. Powell.
Sage and Thyme continue with their natural disaster mini-series before dedicating a whole episode to swooning over Glen Powell. (That's the next episode, folks, as they go and watch Twisters!) In this episode, they lay the science-y foundations that make tornadoes one of Thyme's favorite natural disasters.
Sage and Thyme are continuing their natural disaster mini-series with rumblings about earthquakes and volcanoes. From their favorite media to crowd-friendly information and tips to staying safe, tune in for conversations that go beneath the surface of some of earth's craziest phenomena!
After discussing the dark depths of dystopian societies, Sage and Thyme begin a new mini-series on another destructive force: natural disasters. This first episode kicks the duo off with NOAA-fact-sharing around the ocean fiends: tsunamis and hurricanes. True or false: a hurricane, typhoon, and cyclone are all the same type of storm. Tune in to find out!
Sage and Thyme swing into their highest-rated Media Monday film so far: V for Vendetta! Sage, unsurprisingly, had never seen it and also didn't realize it was a dystopian movie; boy, was she surprised. Meanwhile, Thyme kindled the hugest crush on one of the characters... Tune in to find out who and for other zany commentary, including the chef's-kiss cinematography throughout, parallelism, and government's proper role in its citizens' lives.
Continuing their dystopia mini-series, Sage and Thyme dive deeper into the types of dystopian societies they've come across in film and books. It's a big, big list and they can't cover everything that exists out there, but they highlight some major ones from the last hundred years. Do you have a favorite dystopian work and/or theme? A least favorite?
Sage and Thyme launch a brand-new, much-awaited (by them, anyhow) mini series encompassing literature, film, and the dark underbelly of society and oppressive power regimes. That's right; it's time to briefly skim the surface of dystopias!
The duo begin with an overview of dystopia's history and evolution as a genre and then tackle eight of its most prevalent tropes. They discuss some well-known examples and comment on how dystopian works have powerful ties and messages to modern day realities.
Sage and Thyme finish out Gary Marshall's trio of holiday-themed romcom dramedies with Mother's Day (2016). From terrible haircuts and heartwarming storylines to cringe fests and creepy clowns, there's a lot to unpack! But not before the duo discuss what they think the most challenging and rewarding parts of being a mom would be.
