Today's guest, movie producer Tanya Jamerson stops by the studio to answer some questions that I have regarding the lack of advocacy among Black Hollywood when it comes to the Crisis in Eastern Congo. For sometime now they’ve advocated on behalf of the suffering people in Darfur. Now they've increased their focused their attention on DRCongo by advocating a boycott of conflict minerals. They've pointed out how the minerals end up in places like Asia. What ENOUGH didn’t mention in their press release is that Rwanda plays a large part in the illegal mining of Congo. Why is that? Does it matter? Do they want to further cripple Congo by denying Congo the benefits of their minerals? What do you think? Lets talk about it.....*

What country helped lead to the collapse of the Napoleon French Empire? Haiti. People tend to forget that, but fortunately there are people that haven't forgot about Haiti. Tonight’s “Word on The Street” spotlights “Hollywood United for Haiti” (www.hufh.org), an initiative led by the Haitian-born humanitarian, Jimmy-Jean Louis. Though he is a star on NBC'S 'Heroes" where he plays "The Haitian", he always works to help his mother country of Haiti.

Change seems to be a word that's been thrown around these days. So where is the change in DRC since the last elections? Is there any change in the Obama's administration policy towards DRCongo?
