okay, so i was trying to make an ig story the other day, and i accidentally ended up going on a full-blown rant to my chat gpt. and i thought, yep. this isn’t a reel. this is a podcast episode. so here we are.
today we’re talking about something that hits deep if you’re someone who’s building a business or creating something and offering it to the world, whether it’s a product, a service, a creative project, coaching, candles, cookies, handmade spreadsheets. i don’t care what it is. if you are putting something out there, then you have definitely felt this.
and it’s this tension between wanting people to come to you because they want what you have…
and constantly feeling like you’re stuck trying to convince people to care.
trying to prove that it’s worth it.
trying to explain yourself over and over again.
and i’m just over it.
i’m not here to convince you.
and neither should you be.
so let’s talk about what this actually looks like. because i think we all have those moments.
you’re having a good day. you’re in flow. you post about your offer. you share what you’ve been using or what you’re working on.
and someone messages you. and you’re like, omg, yes.
they want to know more. they ask what’s in it. what it costs. they say, “i’ve been meaning to try that,” or “that sounds like something i need.”
and then… nothing.
or worse, they say it’s too expensive.
or they ghost.
and suddenly, you go from confident ceo energy to spiral-mode. you’re thinking:
* did i say too much?
* should i have followed up faster?
* maybe i need a better graphic.
* maybe i need to offer a discount.
* maybe i’m annoying…
stop.
just stop.
because here’s the truth that i had to learn, and i’m still learning:
if someone needs to be convinced to buy something from you, they’re not your person.
i know we say this all the time, but i don’t think we believe it deep in our bones:
you’re not for everyone. and that’s actually the best thing ever.
because the people who are for you?
they don’t need you to jump through flaming hoops to sell them.
they don’t need six follow-up messages.
they don’t need to be talked into it.
they already know they need something.
they already see something in you that feels right.
they’re just checking the details, not asking for a full-blown ted talk.
and let me say this part louder:
you can be the right thing and still be wrong for the wrong person.
it doesn’t mean your offer sucks.
it doesn’t mean your business isn’t working.
it just means they’re not your person.
and that’s okay.
let’s talk about energy for a second, because you can feel when it’s off.
you know when someone messages you and it instantly feels like you’re going to have to work for the sale?
like you’re already tired just explaining it?
that’s not it. that’s not the vibe.
and here’s why it matters: the best customers, the best clients, the best community, those people are already looking for what you’re offering. they’re already halfway in. your job is just to show up and be clear.
think about the last thing you bought that really changed something for you.
did you have to be convinced?
or did you just see it, and something in you went “that. i need that.”
that’s the energy you want in your business.
that’s the kind of alignment you can build something sustainable from.
because if you’re constantly dragging people to the table, you will burn out.
and it won’t feel good.
and eventually you’ll start resenting the thing you actually love.
so, how do we actually attract those people without getting stuck in the chase?
you start getting really honest about:
* who you are.
* what you stand for.
* what you offer and what it’s for.
stop sugarcoating it to appeal to “everyone.”
speak directly to the ones you made this for.
when i talk about wellness products, i’m not trying to convince you that you need a protein shake.
i’m talking to the woman who already knows she skips meals, feels tired, and wants something that makes life easier.
i’m not trying to sell to the person who’s still debating it after 3 weeks and 6 dms.
i’m talking to the one who sees the value and goes, “this is exactly what i needed.”
so maybe for you, it’s the client who’s ready to heal.
or the mom who wants a system.
or the person who respects the art, the service, the soul you’re putting into what you’re offering.
the more clearly you speak to them, the more easily they’ll find you.
and the rest? they’ll unfollow. they’ll ghost. they’ll say it’s too expensive.
let them.
so if you needed a little permission today, here it is.
you don’t have to convince anyone.
you don’t have to water yourself down.
you don’t have to discount, justify, or chase.
your job is to show up in your truth, speak clearly, and keep going.
the people who are for you will feel it.
they will come.
sometimes slower than you want. sometimes in waves. but they will.
and when they do? it’s the best feeling in the world.
because you’ll know they’re not there because you pushed.
they’re there because you matched.

but i keep reminding myself—and now i’m reminding you:
you’re not here to convince the wrong people. you’re here to connect with the right ones.
