I have a great discussion with my friend Neil Fletcher talking about his new boat! And his future sailing plans in Sweden and the Baltic. Neil is the proud new owner of Arcturus, which he bought earlier this month from Andy Schell of the 59-North Sailing Podcast. This 1966 Allied Seabreeze is not only a proven bluewater passagemaker from a renowned boatbuilder but she has also been painstakingly refitted both by Andy and the boat's former owner, Ben Weems. Neil explains - mostly coherently - about how the relatively recent replacement of key components such as the balsa cored deck, the hull to deck joint, the custom aluminum toerail, the chainplates, turnbuckles, rigging and even the diesel engine made the decision to buy Arcturus so easy for him.  Neil does get a little confused about whether or not the boat's Cape Horn windvane is a servo-pendulum system (it is), but we attribute this to his giddiness at his  new purchase.
