A New Commandment (Jn 13:31-35)
When he [Judas] had gone out, Jesus said, “Now is the Son of Man glorified, and God is glorified in him. If God is glorified in him, God will also glorify him in himself, and glorify him at once. Little children, yet a little while I am with you. You willseek me, and just as I said to the Jews, so now I also say to you, ‘Where I am going you cannot come.’ A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”
Maundy: the English word is derived from the Latin word mandatum, meaning 'command'. The Latin Vulgate renders John 13:34: 'Mandatum novum do vobis ut diligatis invicem sicut dilexi vos', in English: 'A new commandment I give unto you: That you love one another, as I have loved you, that you also love one another.'
Jesus Gave the example, Jesus prayed for them, Jesus Instituted the Lord’s Supper to Provide for them A Means of Grace and a. Reminder, and Jesus directed them to Love One Another

“I do not ask for these only, but also for those who will believe in me through their word, that they may all be one, just as you, Father, are in me, and I in you, that they also may be in us, so that the world may believe that you have sent me. Theglory that you have given me I have given to them, that they may be one even as we are one, (Jn 17:20-22)
Paul’s Admonition to Christians – Unity and Agape
Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgivingone another, as God in Christ forgave you. (Eph 4:32)
For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only donot use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another. For the whole law is fulfilled in one word: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” But if you bite and devour one another, watch out thatyou are not consumed by one another. (Gal 5:13-15)
