Spiritual growth is not optional for a disciple of Jesus. We grow as we help each other abide with Him. In this message, we see how true growth begins by staying connected to Jesus, committing ourselves to spiritual maturity, and contributing our lives to the good of others. God never designed our faith to be isolated or stagnant. As we abide in Christ and invest in one another, He shapes us into mature disciples who help others do the same.

Disciple – Week 2
Why Gathering Together Matters (Acts 2:42–47; Hebrews 10:23–25)

We gather to worship God and remember His love for us. In Scripture, gathering with God’s people is not a suggestion but a shaping priority of a disciple’s life. When we choose to gather, we glorify God, ground ourselves in His love, and grow stronger together. This message challenges us to move gathering from a preference to a priority and to see how God uses worshiping together to form our faith week after week.

The Priorities of a Disciple (Acts 2:42–47)

What you prioritize, you practice. In Acts 2, we see a clear picture of what shapes the life of a disciple of Jesus. As the early church devoted themselves to gathering, growing, giving, and going, their faith moved from belief into everyday practice. This message invites us to examine what we are prioritizing and how those priorities are forming the rhythms of our lives as followers of Jesus.

The Generosity of Christmas

God’s generosity for our deepest need motivates our generosity toward Him and others. In the Christmas story, we see that true generosity is not convenient or transactional. It is costly, received before it is ever given, and it reveals where our allegiance truly lies. As God gives Himself to us in Jesus, we are invited to respond with grateful, open-handed lives marked by worship, trust, and generosity toward others.

Grace Rebuilds What Pride Ruins (Daniel 4:34–37)

God is faithful to dismantle our pride and rebuild us in His grace. In the final moments of Daniel 4, we see how God restores praise, resets perspective, and rebuilds what pride once destroyed. Nebuchadnezzar’s story reminds us that restoration is never earned. It is a gift of grace from a faithful God who humbles us not to harm us, but to heal and restore us for His glory.

When God Breaks to Heal (Daniel 4:28–33)

God faithfully breaks the pride that hardens our hearts in order to form humility within us. In Daniel 4, King Nebuchadnezzar learns that pride blinds us to God’s grace, warnings, and presence, but God’s discipline is never meant to destroy. It is His mercy that stops our self-destruction, reveals what pride has hidden, and begins to rebuild us through humility. When God breaks, He always breaks to heal.

Know the Light. Be the Light. (Matthew 5:14–16)

Our faith is personal, but it was never meant to be private. In Matthew 5, Jesus calls His followers the light of the world and invites us to live in a way that reflects His truth and love to those around us. When we recognize who we are in Him, refuse to hide our light, and reflect Jesus boldly in our words and actions, the world sees the hope that only He can give.

God’s Faithfulness in the Face of My Pride (Daniel 4:4–27)

Pride believes that my control is better than God’s authority, but God’s faithfulness invites me to choose humility before pride brings humiliation. In Daniel 4, we see how God exposes what pride tries to hide, explains what our hearts resist hearing, and extends mercy before bringing discipline. His faithfulness is not meant to shame us but to shape us, calling us to trust that His authority is better than our control.
