It can be easy for us as fallen people to see Jesus as a good communicator rather than authoritative communicator. Today we find that Jesus has authority over creation because he created it.

Jesus offers a new identity that comes with a new purpose. Mark makes it clear that we can't have one without the other. The question we must ask is, are we all in?

More than anything we long to be drawn close to the real Jesus. But in order to do so, we must first make room for him.
