Tip #1 of the 5 Ways to Use LinkedIn To Market Yourself - Your Profile:
Hi, there. It's Chris Hamilton here with Sales Tip A Day, www.salestipaday.com.
Today, I'm going to talk about the first way of 5 Ways to Generate Business on LinkedIn. The first way is taking a look at your profile and creating a profile that attracts qualified buyers. Now, why is this important? First of all, 50% of all B2B buyers go on to LinkedIn to start their search for a product or service. Also 84% of C-level buyers go on to LinkedIn to start their search for a product or service. Now, here's the kicker. Half of these people will discount your profile right off the bat if it's not complete. What you need to do is take a look at creating a complete profile.
Now, some of the ideas behind this you need to think about is that 76% of B2B buyers prefer to work with recommendations. That's food for thought right there. Buyers who use social media spend 84% more per purchase. Social buyers make 61% more purchases than regular buyers. Social selling leaders, people that leverage LinkedIn for example, have 45% more opportunities in their pipeline and they're 51% more likely to hit the quota. Sales people who reach out with valuable insights to buyers are 5 times more likely to get a response compared to those who reach out cold to them. Last not but not the least, 78% of sales people who use social selling processes outperform their peers. The most of these statistics come straight from LinkedIn. The last one comes from Salesforce.
Here's what I mean. First of all by putting a picture on your profile, you will get 11 times more views of your profile. The other thing too is if you have a premium account, make sure that you put the Premium Badge on because you will get up to 15 times more views. Now my thought process behind this one too is that the way that premium account members' profiles are displayed in the search results, they're double the size which means your eyes are brought in more to that search result than the people that have a free account. The other thing too is if you put in your right industry that you're working in, so LinkedIn has 147 different industries which you can choose from. By making sure that you have the right industry will also get you 15 times more views. This makes sense because of the fact that when people are searching on LinkedIn, they're looking for specific industries or they're looking for specific people. The easier you can make it for them to find you, the easier they are that they're going to reach out to you.
The other too if you don't have a picture, it's actually being shown that you get 50% less views as well. Now the other thing too, adding your education is going to increase your views by up to tenfold. The other thing too by adding your skills, you're going to get 13 times more views. Once again when people are looking in LinkedIn for specific skill sets in a geographical area, you're going to end up getting displayed in those results because of the skill set. You could put 50 skills on this section in your profile. My recommendation would be to fill out all 50. The other thing too, by adding more than one job position on your profile will get you 12 times more views.
All together by completing a profile, you have the ability to generate 15 times more views. Not only that you're getting 15 times more views, you're also attracting qualified buyers to your profile. Remember 50% of B2B buyers and 84% of C-level B2B buyer are going online on LinkedIn to try to find solutions for what they're looking for which would be products and services that you have to offer. Why not make it easier for people to reach out to you? Once you get people to your profile, give them a reason to contact you and how to contact you. By the way if you take a look at my profile, also underneath my name, my headline tells people exactly who I work with and what I can do with them; and then also with a call to action. The other thing too
