  • GOD STILL SPEAKS: What Season 1 Taught us About Hearing God

Season 1 is in the books, and before Season 2 kicks off in October, we're going back through everything our guests said on the questions that mattered most. First up: Hearing God. Not the theory of it. The practice. What it actually sounds like on a Tuesday, in a squad car, in the middle of a decision you can't undo. Our guests this season came at it from wildly different places; policing, business, ministry, city-level problem solving; and landed in a strikingly similar spot: God still speaks, most of us have never learned to listen, and the ones who hear him best are the ones who treat it like a skill instead of a spiritual gift they either got or didn't. You'll hear why every act of innovation begins with a question. What happens when a patrol officer stops asking how to end a domestic dispute and starts asking what Jesus would say to the couple in front of him. Why God hides things, and why that's good news. How to tell your own voice from his. What to do when you get it wrong. And 3 practical guard rails for testing whether the thing you're hearing is really him.

  • Gary Brooks: What Is Your First National Center?

In this episode, Gary Brooks shares what the Lord has taught him through his journey as a successful real estate developer, and specifically, the renovation of the First National Center in Oklahoma City. Renovating the First National Center was a presumably, impossible project that Gary shares was a prop for what the Lord wanted to do in him, more than it was about the building itself. We get to listen in and learn all the rich nuggets Gary learned, like living with holy expectation and the importance of stewarding God's spoken Word well. Gary also shares that the First National Center was a starting point for what the Lord has invited him to step into next, and encourages us to look for and lean into our "First National." Enjoy the show!
