This Sunday is Reformation Sunday when we remember the ever-reforming tradition we are a part of. Perhaps no reform is more greatly needed in the church today than the reckoning of racism in our church and ourselves, which is why this Reformation Sunday we centralize the voice of our friend and Black preacher, the Rev Dr. Stephen Newby. Join us as he speaks to what Jesus does with difference in race.

We have these bodies of ours. And when we pay attention (beyond the standards our culture prescribes) we see how there is great variety in how bodies function, and in the abilities they have. Often, these differences are minimized, hidden, devalued. Today, we examine what Jesus does in the space between our bodies, in the difference our bodies hold. Pastor Sara leads us in a conversation of Ableism and what Jesus does with difference in and between our bodies.

Last Sunday we kicked off our fall series, "The Space Between Us: What Jesus Does with Difference," our chance to name and explore the issues that divide us. Today, we welcome the Rev Dr. Megan Rohrer (they/them), the first ordained trans pastor in the Lutheran church. Rooted in their own story, they will engage us in exploring what Jesus does with difference in gender and sexuality.

In seasons of great unknown and anxiety, research reveals how expressing our emotional world is one of the most important activities we can engage for coping and thriving. Today, we use the Psalms as our example to teach us how to do this - using Israel's blueprint as we each write our own Psalm of Disorientation. Bring your paper/journal and pen for this final Sunday in our Summer of Psalms, as we let our experience find expression in speech through the poetic form of the Psalms.
