Love is a Verb. If this is true, then our theological understanding must flow with the same value. The theology of the cross informs many of our practices at Salt House.

This Sunday our LOVE IS A VERB series continues with special guest speaker (and Salt House staff member) Rachel Horton. In addition to being our amazing Salt House Kids team leader, Rachel also has quite a story...and we are HERE. FOR. IT. One of our core practices is that STORIES MATTER. When we experience another person's story, we are invited into a deeper understanding of God's story and an opportunity to reflect on our own story.

One of our core practices at Salt House is Being Changed. We recognize that we are all living through some kind of transition at almost every stage of our lives. We believe we can discover the goodness and guidance of God in the midst of these in-between times leading us to transformation and an invitation to become agents of change in our world around us. Join us to hear more of Ryan's story and the great invitation to embrace the change in our lives.

One of the very first things we did as a community, even before Salt House officially existed, was engaging in our core practice of EATING TOGETHER. Pastor Sara invites us into a conversation on the importance of knowing who we're eating with and why.

Justin McRoberts is an artist, speaker, author, and curator who invites us to see ourselves and our world as part of a cohesive, Divinely-orchestrated story. And this morning, the story continues as Justin invites us into the challenge of living out our core practice of Radical Welcome.

This Sunday our LOVE IS A VERB fall sermon series focuses on our core practice of HEARING GOD. Pastor Sara will help us see how the ways God spoke in the Bible are deeply connected to our ways of hearing God now. Join us as we explore how a central part of love is the practice of paying attention.

As we launch our fall series LOVE IS A VERB, we welcome to the Salt House microphone Amber North, program director at the New Bethlehem Day Center. Come and be inspired through Amber's story and her deep love for the work of engaging with the needs of homelessness in our region.

We welcome guest speaker Elizabeth Rawlings - an ordained Lutheran Pastor who most recently served as the Executive Director and Pastor at The Sanctuary: a Lutheran and Episcopal Campus Ministry at the University of Washington. She has a story to tell and for our Forming Questions series, she brings the question: "What Are You Doing Here?"

At Salt House, we have a core practice of Hearing God - capturing how we believe that there is holiness all around us, that a Jesus-centered life is one of paying attention and listening. One way we do this is through our regular practice of Lectio Divina - in worship on Sunday, we listen to a passage of scripture, hearing God, hearing connections to our lives and world now. It is that simple - as we build in us the practice of listening, as we learn how to love.
