We waited through Advent, but what did we wait for? What’s different on this side of Christmas? This Epiphany Sunday, we will look at the story of the Magi bringing gifts to the baby Jesus. We’ll talk about tales of stars, dreams, adventures, and wisdom. And Intern Pastor Zach will consider what this epic chapter in the story of God might mean for our stories.

Come Sunday, we will have made it into 2022! And it will still be Christmastide, making it the perfect moment for us to stop, wonder, and experience our God-with-us, come-in-the-flesh, by slowing down for some tender time to be with our bodies as the place where God dwells with us. For the final Sunday of Advent, we risk joy. Especially in this prolonged season of pandemic, joy seems elusive, and not worth the risk! But how does the story of God invite us into joy - especially now?

As we continue our sermon series on the Risk of Advent, Intern Pastor Zach will be exploring the Risk of Love. We’ll look at what the Hebrew Scriptures say about love, and how Jesus modeled this in his life to consider how we can better love God and those around us this season.

This Sunday we'll open up scripture and tend to the layers of grief and difficult emotion that have built up over the last 22 months, and find practical ways to be emotionally intelligent and present through the festive weeks to come.

Every culture and every person deals with the reality of death differently. One hidden gem in the Christian tradition is the celebration called All Saints, which gives us a container for our grief and gratitude and a vision for continued connection to our dearly departed.
