  • Speaking on Business: Nightingale Education Group
This is Derek Miller, Speaking on Business. Utah is home to several organizations focused on education and workforce development. One is Nightingale Education Group, a U.S.-accredited nursing workforce developer based in Salt Lake City working to close health equity gaps. Chief Executive Officer, Mikhail Shneyder, joins us with more.
    Mikhail Shneyder:
Since its inception in 2012, Nightingale Education Group has worked to build a unique management philosophy and frameworks based on principles from respected organizational thought leaders, including Dr. Swarbrick’s 8 Dimensions of Wellness.
Paying a living wage is an essential element of our philosophy, and we announced at our 2024 conference the new company minimum wage. Our 25 dollars an-hour minimum supports our collaborators’ financial wellness, allowing everyone the opportunity to develop and maintain all aspects of a healthy life while maximizing their individual impact.
Now serving almost 8,000 nursing learners across the United States, our nearly 1,000-strong team uses impactful organizational frameworks in daily work. This helps our collaborators bring much-needed education to historically marginalized, geographically isolated, and underrepresented communities while also elevating their own lives, families, and communities.
We believe every nurse has the power to make a meaningful difference in healthcare and beyond.
    Derek Miller:
Nightingale Education Group is helping build a stronger, more diverse nursing workforce, making healthcare better for everyone. Learn more at Nightingale.EDU. I'm Derek Miller, with the Salt Lake Chamber, Speaking on Business.

  • Speaking on Business: Orrin G. Hatch Foundation
This is Derek Miller, Speaking on Business. Civility and solutions are the pillars that guide the Orrin G. Hatch Foundation, named in honor of the late U.S. Senator who faithfully served Utah for more than 40 years. Executive Director, Matt Sandgren, joins us with more.
    Matt Sandgren:
The Orrin G. Hatch Foundation seeks to build on Senator Hatch’s legacy of effective policymaking. Through our programming, we have hosted numerous Senators, foreign policy experts, and even two Supreme Court Justices to discuss the challenges facing our country.
National media, including The Wall Street Journal, USA Today, Newsweek, and others, have highlighted our work.
The Hatch Foundation is continuing its tradition of bringing Senate heavyweights to Utah to honor them with our annual Titan of Public Service Award. We’re thrilled this year to host Arkansas Senator Tom Cotton, the chairman of the powerful Senate Intelligence Committee, on August 7th at the Grand America Hotel in downtown Salt Lake City.
Our goal here at the Hatch Foundation is to restore America’s institutions to their proper place and function. That’s how we’re building on Senator Hatch’s legacy. And it’s how we’re securing a strong America for the next generation.
    Derek Miller:
The Hatch Foundation has big plans for this year and beyond to promote civility and solutions. To learn more or get involved, visit the Foundation’s website at OrrinHatchFoundation.org. I'm Derek Miller, with the Salt Lake Chamber, Speaking on Business.
